Well, I wish I had something good to report, but I don't. Weather was foggy in the AM's, limiting gobbling, and keeping the birds up in the trees late. Then when the fog burned off, the birds quickly disappeared into the swamps to stay cool, as the temps soared into the mid 90's. It's felt more like summer than spring down here in FLA. The lack of turkey action made the public land Wally's get bored even earlier than the normally do, so they hopped in their trucks and drove up and down the roads, spooking the few birds that were around.
Cool front arriving this week. If I don't get drawn for a hunt in FLA, and I don't get locked up at home by a mandatory Coronapanic quarantine, I'm probably going to head north and try out the SC birds. I had high hopes for this season but Corona shot a hole in that.
As it stands now, I'll be happy to just get one gobbler somewhere.
On the bright side, I'm already working on plans for a turkey extravaganza for next year to make up for this year's
