I'd hunt that pattern. I would aim lower, like on his wattles. That way you cover his head and neck more effectively

Agreed, a solid pattern but a bit high. A waddle aim Will dust him....

Hunt it!!! You could,if you wanted, choke it to  .660 and still be good to go.

I would definitely hunt that. You don't want a pattern so tight that you miss up close. I would bet that more birds are missed at 15 yards than 40.
