Next door neighbor  passed many years ago He planted a Yew bush. Its was about 60 years old when the new neighbors cut it  out. I took a sizable piece of the base . It's been drying about 5 years. I stabilized the 2 calls with wood hardner. After turning I  burnished the wood on the lathe with an old mastodon tooth and applied 100% beeswax.  Slate over slate.  One I'll  keep one I'll  let go.

Both turned out very nice, the one on the left really catches my eye. I had never heard of a Yew Bush, I think I have heard of a Yew Tree and I think I remember the Indians used to make bows with those and Osage Trees. Are they the same family I would guess?

I added carved roping to the calls which brings them to, $85.00 ea. Includes shipping
They both have a beautiful sound and I'm parcel to the lighter color one myself.

Yew's for the most part are generally just used as a shrub. They're very common. You two are talking about the same plant
