Say, I don't suppose you harvested this bird in Stafford did you. The bird totally matches a bird I came very close to tagging last Friday am. He was alone on the roost, didn't gobble much and when he did, it was weak, so I suspected a jake. He was only 120 yds away and when he flew down he was at 70 yards and he clearly had a full fan--never made another sound except for spit-n-drumming. He made it 20 more yards, but would commit I believe due to my jake decoy. He wandered off. I called again after 20 minutes and he came back, but again stopped at 60 yards and stood there like a statue for 20 mins. I would sweet talk him and he would look over, but wouldn't move. I got a prefect look at him with the binos and was farly convinced he was a jake since I could see the stubby beard--but thought it odd since he had the ful fan.
Congrats, nonetheless! Just curious, Scott
