This is an old topic but a very important one. Especially, for those not using Permethrin Clothing Insect Repellent. I started using it for the first time this year and have not had one single tick on me so far. I don't just use it during Turkey season but during this summer I have not gone out with out it. Currently I am cutting wood and hanging tree stands and cameras.

Part of the reason I'm posting this is because our local newspaper recently wrote an article about a guy that was bitten by a tick and contracted Rocky Mtn Spotted fever. It cut off his peripheral circulation to his hands and feet also kidneys and liver. They had to put him under the knife. The paper stated that he was resentful and unable to look at his foot where they had cut to the bone to remove rotten flesh. Very sad.

So for those who are not sold on Permeation, don't think it will effect them "think again" you owe it to yourself, family and friends to use Permeation. I am using the sawyer's 0.05 spray from Walmart. There are other places to purchase such as Amazon and solutions you can mix up yourself. You may also benefit from searching this site as there have been several post on the subject and even a sticky.

As important as your gun and calls for turkey hunting. Ticks are probably the most common and dangerous threat in the woods.
