I've been turkey hunting for a while now , I love it, I like calling them in and I like them to gobble at least once. I don't care how big he is as long as he gets me excited, which happens everytime  even at first sight. I don't like to shoot one year old turkeys  but sometimes it happens if he gobbles and I can't see well. My season plan is to get one under my belt them spend the rest of the season trying to bag a hard headed tuff old educated  gobbler. That is giving everyone fits. Or a tuff old pu lic land hermit , playing the game is what its all about for me

Good luck with killing your old gobbler ... yes playing the game is all part of the excitement of the hunt .....

I agree except for the Jakes I let my kids and grandkids take 0ne if that's what came in for there first bird but for me it's playing the game of working the older ones and watching their show until it's time to end it

The game is the fun for me too. Any guest I bring is welcome to shoot any legal bird with me. I let Jakes walk unless it would be a memorable hunt, double with a loved one or friend maybe. No jakes this year but I do have a tag left for Maine. Idea, going there right now  :funnyturkey:
