We had lots of rain today in North Georgia and my wife, daughter and I were sitting in the living room watching Game of Thrones when we heard a loud swoosh sound and saw shadows across the back of the house. This is what I found when I walked out on the deck, which by the way, I spent about 3 weeks last summer rebuilding and it was barely spared. My mower did get a few scratches after I forgot to put it up yesterday.

Dang. Got lucky. Now take that luck and head to the turkey woods with it. In all seriousness, I am glad your family and property are ok

Yikes! That's one of those times you don't complain too much about the cleanup... could have been A LOT worse. Glad all is ok!

Glad it missed, man they can do a lot of damage. There is one well two that really worry about next to my house, if it falls on the house it will be a major problem. It took a lightning strike a few years back, took out my 2 meter/440 antenna that was on it and took out my HF rig, TV and VCR unfortunately I can't get renters ins. here because the electric is to old.

Luckily, I have a good friend in the tree cutting business and he said that he will come by after he catches up from all the storm work and take care of the tree

That was a close call.  Glad you and your family were not hurt... But look at the bright side... you now have a year supply of firewood.

Glad you're okay. Blessed for sure.
