Well guys, Im done for another 11 months and man am I tired.  We hunted 22 of our 30 day season and it has caught up with me.  Most hunts weren't but a hour or two long before work but getting up at 5:00 all the time then going to work and then coming home to a 4 year old, a 2 year old, and a 11 month old have whipped my tail but I loved every minute of it.  Ended up with 4 birds myself and my brother ended up with 3 and out of 22 hunts we were on birds 18 of those hunts.  Our club was loaded with birds this year which helped at times but I think hurt us at times as well.  Next season should be another good one as I know we left a bunch of long beards still kicking and we have seen a bunch of jakes this year.  Hopefully this trend will continue with another good hatch this year.   :you_rock:

I'm with ya' brother.
I've hunted every chance I have a free second and just came off 7 straight days of wind and rain.
No birds to show for my efforts, and I only heard one gobble all week....depressing.

Yep, the season is a long haul -especially sitting in the wind and rain.  I haven't seen one gobbler/jake yet.  Heard them a few times, but no luck in bringing them in.

I know the feeling, started on 04/04 and I have a month to go. One thing you have to remember is we have only been given so many spring mornings. And enjoy each and every one, for one day we will no longer be able to chase the dream. As old men we will cling to the memories of hunts from days gone past.  We will talk of the days of up and downs, the big gobbler and the one that got away.

Don't gobble at me...
