Hi All ! I am rather new to this call making hobby and now have a router table in my small garage shop. Can anyone help me with the correct bit for making the proper profile on a lid? Does the bit have a name or some profile name that I can use to get on at Lowes or Home Depot?
Thanks for sharing with me and good hunting.

The only way to get a bit for a router is to have it custom made which is very expensive, most starting out making boxes just sand the profile on with a belt sander.

I would say,, it will be a lot safer doing it by a sander,, routers are good for biting your fingers and you need those,,,

Peter,
Like the guys before me said... belt sander is the way to go. The router table is a great tool though for certain parts of the box call. I use my router table to route the grooves in the top of my lids for inlays. Just be careful with the router as it spins at high RPMs and can quickly take a finger off. Hope this helps.
