Carlson's replacement barrel for 870?

I see that Carlson's has a chrome lined barrel 24" made for Remington 870. Has anyone on hear tried one out or hunt with one? This is an old 870 turkey express, not the super mag.....

If I was looking to buy a replacement barrel  for an 870 I'd buy a Remington barrel. You can find used Wingmaster barells in any length on eBay pretty cheap. Get an older Wingmaster not the Express and you'll have the best barrel you could buy for an 870. Every older Wingmaster I've shot or owned shot to point of aim with the bead site. All and I mean 100% of the complaints about Remington is the newer cheaper Express models. In the 1960's-1980's no one would have bought a shotgun with a rough action and a barell with a crooked choke tube or one that hit 12" above and left of point of aim. Today's hunters don't know what a good shotgun is so they keep buying the junk and then complain about it.
There is no need for chrome lined barells it was a gimmick for duck hunters when steel shot became mandatory.

Thanks for the info. Even my 80's Express Turkey 21" and Rhino choke is amazing.... Just like experimenting.

I couldn't agree more with Phillipshunt about older shotguns. I have a lot of vintage shotguns of all action types manufactured from the dawn of smokeless powder up until the early '60's. Remington, Winchester, Stevens, Browning, Savage, Ithaca. They all shoot to where the bead points with even patterns. Sure, some have preferences as to shot size but none of this foot high, low, left, right nonsense.

I'm tracking on the old barrels being a better quality. I've seen some people say NOT to polish chrome barrels, others say go a head. 

I've read on other forum manufactures chrome lined barrels because it was actually cheaper in the manufacturing process....

Still seems to be a mixed bag on chrome barrels to polish or not......

I have an addiction.... My 870 shoots amazing so I don't need another barrel.... I just like to shoot different loads and see.

When I first started 35 yards was max range with like 9/10 in the kill zone...... Today I've got 250+ in a 10" at 40 yards..... So why am I looking to improve a 90's 3" gun? I have no idea.....
