Question for ya'll

I got on hot bird today and he came in quick.  I mean gobbled, flew across a ,creek and was in front of me in no time.  I didn't even have time to get properly setup.  To make a long story short he busted me. As he was running off I managed to get a shot off.  He didn't seem like he was hurt at all. As a matter of fact he took flight and landed shortly after and ran into the woods. I did find one feather on the ground where I might have grazed him.  You think it would be too early to get back after him this weekend? I know he should have forgotten this whole deal by then.  It's funny the ones you miss or screw up on are the ones you remember the most.

He will be huntable If he is ok but set up in a different location. Why didnt you just let him go instead of taking a hail mary. Not bashing but was just curious. Its possible you put more shot in him than you think. Again , I am not judging you , just trying to figure out the reasoning?

If you didn't hit him, you should be fine to go after him by the weekend. I missed one completely (shot straight over him), changed position and killed him the next day. Again if it was a complete miss. If you did get shot in him, he might avoid that area for a little while
