Archery: Deeks are no farther than 15 yards from the blind (I Like even closer) with the gobbler or jake decoy facing the blind, a submissive hen on the ground about 3 feet from him and perpendicular, and maybe if not always a feeding or resting hen somewhere in the mix with all decoys within about a 5 square yard area.
Shotgun: Bout the same setup but usually the deeks are between 20 and 30 yards away and if possible off to the side to draw the birds' attention AWAY from the shooter should he or she have to move or shift the barrel a bit.
