soggy bottom birds

Anyone have any advice for hunting river bottom birds in TN?   I have a lead on one but cant get him in sight, only hear him but can never see him as he is always with a hen.  I am hoping they'll be split up on Wednesday and I can get set up on him with out getting busted in the A.M as he roosts in the entrance( haven't seen him exactly just have tracks that appear out of no where and head into the swampy part of the bottoms)

Stay after them and pay attention to the details.  Notice patterns and you will figure him out!!  Good luck!

Sometimes knocking them off the roost in the dark isn't a bad thing. Breaking them up like you do in the fall can change the odds dramatically.

Thanks for the advice ya'll.  Unfortunately Wednesday was a bust.  No fresh tracks anywhere.  I think he might have gone across the back water creek at the beginning of the public land onto private land as I heard him once again.  Being that I keep finding yote, bobcat and raccoon tracks, he might not be back.  Hopefully for my sake he will be back.
