I have been spending the last few weeks scouting an area for my first year out turkey hunting, and I think I finally found a bird I want.
While there are multiple birds that roost on one edge of the sandpit, there is only one that roosts on the other.... I hadn't gone to look over on his end until today... Even though I hear only him gobbling when everyone else shuts up.
He walks around gobbling his head off without a care in the world until about 9 in the morning... Not sure where he goes after that.
The space he occupies is covered in tracks, and I've already picked a spot I want to set up. Hopefully I can take him this year....
Season opens on May 2nd, just hope I can call him in and shoot straight...
