To me, a great striker can take a decent call to the next level. Looks like Cox's tulipwood is one of the more lauded strikers. Those of you who have one, let me know why. Is it a must have? What other strikers fall in this category?

Stuckey tulipwood and macassar ebony are pretty good on any call. I just got a matt mclain black locust striker that has really impressed me

Spitten and drummen

Stuckey macassar straight tip , Stuckey Osage straight tip, Stuckey tulip straight tip, cox tulip and Lyman tulip wood. I will never part with these strikers. I have a couple hundred from several callmakers and these are my favorites. I do have a green straight tip Rutland dymondwood from Stuckey that is also one of the best.

Are these Stuckey straight tips you refer to older strikers or are they the same ones he has for sale now? I only see one type and they look to be more of a hybrid bell tip than straight. Just bought his macassar ebony & camo dymondwood, both resemble the hybrid bell tip. WTT either of those for a Cox tulip if anyone is interested.

You have to special order a straight tip from him. Those hybrid bell tips suck in my opinion and they are all over eBay. Tried some and hate them. Straight tip is a whole different animal.

This ^^^!!!!  I've been on Stuckey's straight tips too. They're much better in my opinion.

I cant get used to those flared tips either. Give me a straight tip striker any day.   :firefighter:
