Hello fellow turkey hunters, I know this is kind of a random thread and I'm fairly new here, but many you live in the same area of the US as I do and thought you might could help me out with this.  This May will be my wife and I's 10 year anniversary. She is pretty set on going to the beach. That is fine with me but I thought it would be interesting to see what kind of places you all might recommend. I'm in the NW corner of Alabama and we would like to keep the driving to 7 or 8 hrs or less. I'm kind of hoping for some cool places that are maybe a little less well known. What do ya'll have for vacation spots for 2-3 nights in the SE besides just going to the beach? It can be at the beach but maybe something a little different than the standard beach condo trip. And yes I realize if I was to somehow plan something over there in Georgia that I might could swing by Mr. Mabry's place lol.  Ready..set..go....

In TN we use Gatlinburg and pigeon forge for a staycation. There are some deals on cabins right now. We just got a cabin with friends this past week end and got a buy two nights get one free deal. In Gatlinburg everything is walking distance and lots of commercial moonshine and wine tasting and there is an aquarium there lots of entertainment. If you've never been there I suggest it be on your list. Beach wise I like orange beach for a quick trip that's little less touristy than some neighboring beaches. Also nashville has alot to offer if you haven't been here.

For two or three nights, I'd go Vegas. Driving would be out, but we find pretty good deals on airfare. Tons to do, last 2 trips I made I gambled 0 times. If you have never been it's something to see. Vegas is the only urban city I would consider vacationing to.

I did mention Vegas bc of the cheap plane tickets. We've got 3 young kids, the youngest is 7 months so we thought we'd stay somewhere where we could drive back if necessary. I've been to Nashville but haven't been to pigeon forge in quiet a while. Thanks for the suggestions. Keep em' coming.

I would suggest Savannah or Charleston on a flood tide, and book a redfish guide. Tailing reds are as much fun as I've ever had in saltwater.

Gulf Shores MS.
I've done Destin and I passed thru GS to get there.  I won't make that error again.  Destin is fine, but very crowded.
Love to hunt the King of Spring!
