Ok Guys I want know if anyone has any information on that all new HIGDON decoys, they have made duck and goose decoys for awhile and now just released last week at the convention their new turkey decoy line.

Did anyone get to see them?

How much were they?

When are they available?

Chris Downs

Not available yet. No price yet. Carve looks great with lots of detail. I thought the body paint colors were good but the head could use some work. There were four poses I think. Can't remember exactly. Bodies were hard plastic. Don't know if they'll remain that way or will have a softer plastic when available. Motion/stake system s the same as on they're full body ducks and geese.

Did anyone check out their FB page,  I had to look at it a couple of times, the video is of hens fighting with their decoy. She has a killer beard on her and there is a 2nd bearded hen in same flock!

Just my thoughts here, (and I have not seen these in person yet) the hen decoys seem to have a lot of "red" in the lower caruncles, maybe they did that to induce hen fights?? But seems odd on a production model. The bodies also seem to be very shiny, which would be ok for the jake but the hens just don't look right, they also don't seem to have the "right" plumage colors of a hen. I may be way off here, I am just going off their image of the decoys.

Not gonna be available till fall.   Believe I heard they were gonna tone down the hen heads as well. Not sure on final price either    They are VERY lightweight from what I heard

Ok I talked to higdon, they are made out of plastic and going to be made over seas, they are not sure on final cost yet, they said they will be available in the fall, and would not tell me a price. I have heard guys upset that they have copied dsd and using plastic mold injection in a dsd form but I don't know if this is true. Be interesting to see.

Aren't all these new ultra realistic decoys DSD knockoffs? I dont think they are on DSD level. I thought they were avain decoys at first.

They do seem to be DSD knockoffs. All good...as mentioned earlier, still not as good. DSD sets the bar, no doubt, but they are awfully proud of them.

I remember when feather flex decoys were the cats meow and will killed a lot of turkeys over them.. I believe these will do just fine and will smash gobblers like any other well made decoy on the market regardless of the so called red in the legs..

Legs look good as far as color, a light redish pinkish mix is what I see in most birds around from what I have seen. If you were referring to the lower caruncles, which is what I was noticing, and just my opinion...

They should be proud. They build the best looking most realistic hen decoys period! All others at this point are sub par.
