Fix a chip,/crack in wood rim???

I have a glass call,,glass is fine, the very top wood edge or rim is a cracked chip about  half inch,,it's still attached to call but won't be because you can move it back and forth.
Any experience or suggestions on how to fix

CA Glue (crazy glue )  paper towels fold up small pieces dab small amount to paper towel do it quick  and wipe over crack can put small amount on crack first if u got some fine sand paper sand between coats ,,, dont get no glue between glass and rim

So only glue the visible crack area on outside of call.
Don't try to squeeze some glue in on both sides of crack - which would be the inside rim.
