Practically all slate calls are made from Pennsylvania slate. The only other grey/black colored slate quarried in the states is in Buckingham county Virginia, and to my knowledge they don't turn it into pot call material. There was a black slate quarry in Maine, but it hasn't been in operation for years. They produced roofing slate with it. The other colors come from quarries on the VT/NY border.
