For you food plotters out there, what do you plant for your spring turkeys? I have several plots in winter wheat and a few young clover plots from deer season, but I would like to add some that are turkey specific. Heres the kicker. I have too many hogs to plant chufas like I would love to do. Any other ideas? Keep in mind my climate, I live in the deep south. Thanks.

Clover has always been the best and usually cheapest, one thing i have done that really isnt a food plot but has drawn and kept lots of turkeys on my farm is to leave the corn from last year standing and it makes a great bugging plot and helps keep polts safer. Plus its neat to hear the longbeard come strutting through the dried stalks!

Yeah I agree. We plant a wide variety of crops for wildlife and clover is the best overall food plot crop in my opinion.

Clover and NO clover is not CHEAP to plant and take care of . you need two different chemicals to control the grass and weeds. You will need soil test and you will need to add Lime and fertilizer...  With clover seed around 8.50 pound for white clover and 5.50 - 6.50 for red it's no way cheap...

If ya already have clover in your plots, I'd run a bush hog the plots with cover 2 weeks before the season and disc up the ones without.
