Hunting Blind Care?
June 01, 2017, 09:56:55 PM
Hey Y'all,
Purchased my first blind this spring. Is there a good product that I can spray on the fabric to help waterproof the blind better as well as protecting it from UV rays?
Any other tips or useful gear to have in the blind?

Never have sprayed mine and it's 16 years old. I don't leave it out and keep it stored in my shop

I don't mess with it, either. I have a few leaky spots, but they're not bad.

I haven't done anything with mine ever either. For me the hardest thing on them is high winds if you leave them out. I might leave mine out for a couple days at most then pack them up.

I looked into this on
archerytalk.com
and lots of guys recommended this. I tried it last fall and it worked very well. I set my blind up in September and pulled it in late November and never got wet on the inside. The fabric did fade a little from the sun but that is expected of any material.

Jim Shockey had a episode one time on blind care. He took a tube of silicone caulking and mixed it with mineral spirits, made a paste and brushed it on the top and seams.
