Super JOB!! Most people form out state that haven't hunt Public Land Florida don't realize what you accomplished. I make it down ther every two years, been there four times. Last year first time I taged out Public land. A LOT of people that live in area that Hog hunt, deer and turkey hunt sometimes don't shoot any birds for the year, a lot of pressure. I will walk 3 plus miles in but that guarantees you nothing but exercise because some one els still might beat you there. So don't think what he did is a norm most cases you will work for pubic land Gobblers. way to go TERRIFIC Job again

They're tough birds to hunt for sure. I feel lucky to live an area where I can hunt these birds. I'd say it's 90% scouting 10% hunting. If I didn't live down here I think I would have a very tough time killing one, due to thier silent nature. My hats off to anyone who can come from out of state and kill one without a guide. Sometimes I wish we had easterns. Because most of the time it feels more like deer hunting than turkey hunting.

Congratulations! I hear that Florida public land hunting is challenging.

The addiction will cost you time and money and alienate those close to you. I can give you the names of a dozen addicts — myself included — whose wives begin to get their hackles up a week before turkey season starts and stay mad until a week after it closes.
