After two uneventful days, this morning the birds were going wild on the roost. That all came to an end after fly down when things went silent. Finally at 10:08 I got this guy to let loose to my calls. The problem was he was with a hen and very hit or miss on answering my calls. After moving on him 3 times, I finally got to the point where I could hear him spitting and drumming. Shortly after that I see a hen making her way to my direction. Right behind her was a swelled up longbeard. Once he got to 30 yards he threw his head up and then the Hevi 7s did the rest. Struck him up at 10:08, killed him at 1:45.

Great display of the gobbler! Congrats on sticking with him and getting it done!

Nice bird!   I was messing with one most of the morning and into the afternoon.....he outlasted me so we'll have to go again tomorrow.  Way to hang with it.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
