Just picked up this beauty 3 weeks ago and have been fine tuning to get the striker mags flying just right!
Due to some shoulder issues I've had to back down on poundage, only shooting 47lbs, but that seemed to be just right today.
As for the story....a good friend offered to take me to one of his farms....and what a spot it is!!
It sets up perfectly for bow hunting, especially hunting without a blind like i do...plenty of cover on the edge to shoot the field.
They were a little quiet, light rain, breezy....and then someone on the neighboring property decided to get an early start to the season and fired off 3 shots shortly after 6....nice!.....
A few minutes later hen sounded off behind me and that woke the boys up!...when they hit the ground (I heard them flydown) I laid into them with my Sinclair snakewood brass..the hen didn't like it, but the boys sure did... and the 2 toms broke away from the hen.
They strutted up to the DSD and the bigger of the 2 gave it a good beating....so the smaller guy just stood there and watched, broadside at 22 yds....and if you do that, I'm gonna put an arrow in ya!
He fluttered off about 30 yrs and piled up....and his buddy commenced to beating up the decoy....
10" beard 1+" spurs....
My Captain Hooks tote made the walk back a pleasure!
