I'm not certain all the blame is on Winchester. It does suck that those up north, myself included, get to try them during the season while the southern states got screwed a bit but I'm thinking supply and demand has a bit to do with it. People had them some time ago as they trickled into the market and the supply hasn't caught up with demand even still. The 12 ga has a larger following in the turkey woods than any other gauge so it only makes sense that they produce those first. It's a lot like the 22 LR vs 22 WMR thing to me. The time lost manufacturing LR doesn't compensate for the gain in cost of the WMR at this point.
