I would suggest you spend what you can to get a quality trumpet call.

Can't help you w the trumpet. Previously run a few but got my first one days ago. I will say Mark Sharpe's river cane advice is spot on. Not only are they as beautiful as can be they sound great n are easy to run, least for me. This is the reason I hadn't owned trumpets, they're the only suction yelpers I found tougher to be consistant. Marks were easy.

Just got an ABW trumpet from pappy and she is easy to run. Best $80 trumpet I've ever heard!

While he hasn't made a big name yet, Jeff Jones (lumberjack) makes a good trumpet from best I can tell anyway. He sent one to the Buckeye Challenge and won 5th place. I snagged it off eBay and it plays much better than I'm able to do with it.

Save some money to add with it. Even just 25-50 bucks. Then get a trumpet from a call maker that had a bit of a name and if it is not for you then you should be able to get your money back.

For $125 you can get a Natural Addiction with a buffalo horn or $150 you can get a Billy Buice Field grade.

A good trumpet makes the learning curve much easier when trying to learn.
