I really appreciate all the replies posted here.  I'm going to shoot up the ones I've got, but will give the Hevi-13 3.5" #7s a go next season.  Thanks again for your inputs.

Per the advice of Indian Creek, I shoot the 3.5 Win XR # 5s in the Maxus with a 28 inch barrel.  Not sure of the #'s or percentage of hits, but at 40 yards its a consistent and will be a for sure turkey killer.  Besides I just cant fathom shooting 3.5 inch loads @ $5 a pop for the numbers game. They work well and I got plenty of beards and spurs to prove it from when I shoot the #6's in the 3inch 1187 turkey special 21 inch barrel.
