There are some "grades" to these channels
You are going to see with this is considered the more "professional" Outdoor Channel Shows
Then you have the Sportsman Channel, just a "pro" step down
and then the rest of these channels will fall below this line with the "less known" shows and staff...
and I have seen some "horrible" stuff coming from a Hunter's Ed Instruction background. You will also learn that these "shows" are just that, not much of what happens in the field is what happens on the show through editing, and taking separate camera angles and b roll and other camera shots taken a number of times. If you're a hunter worth your salt you know what I am talking about. I do film for one these shows and have been filmed for them and know what we film to what "airs" is part of that edit process. You will also need to understand that much of these are product endorsements, paid to promote their (Company) products, making a sale and being sponsored. Not that it is all bad, there is a business behind the shows and generate huge $$. Just need to understand that, I hear this so much at the store (I seen them using this XXXX on this show, do you have it?) there was a survey done a while ago on what influences you on making decision on purchasing your Outdoor Gear, these Shows (product endorsements) came in dead last.. the first choice was from people you know and forums like this!
There are a few of these shows I do enjoy watching and others I won't turn on, we all have that choice
