SS is great! Al is an awesome guy to deal w too. Another maker I like some boxes from is Halloran but he's a little harder to contact.
If you call SS get a few scratch boxes while you're at it

For the price and quality, you can't beat Mike Crooks short boxes (Spring Creek Turkey Calls).  He is a member on this forum.  He has several in the classified section and can make you a call of your choosing.  I've bought several of his and they are top notch.

I've been a big fan of SS calls the past few years.  Definitely check them out.

Another to look at it Jody Harrison, search preacherman custom turkey calls on Facebook.  My wife got me a snakewood over holly box from him for Christmas, it's a really sweet looking and sounding call.

I've got boxes from a few makers. SS, Spring Creek and Lonnie Mabry so far with a Reynolds and a gooserbat on the way. The previous 3 are all great boxes. The Mabry is hard to get unless you get lucky and find one in the classifieds r drive to Georgia to get it. The SS and spring creek are much easier to obtain and both will see field use this year. Have scratch boxes from both as well and all I can say is get one from each of them. Both guys are easy to deal with. check out Mike's long box in the classifieds. You'd be hard pressed to find a long box that sounds as good in its price range.
