Remington 11-48

Just picked up a Rem.11-48 in near perfect condition and was wondering if I could turn it into a Turkey gun.
It's 2.75 with a IC. I would have to have the barrel threaded for a choke if it has the diameter to do so.
I have read that these guns didn't hold up well with heavy loads also?
What y'all think?

Just my opinion but I would leave it as a bird and trap gun. Good snag though if it's in good condition. I grew up with that exact gun and I couldn't tell you how many dove fell to that thing.

A superb shotgun........but keep the old girl as a dedicated bird gun, would be a great pheasant gun, JMHO.
PS.....If you ever want to put the old girl up for adoption, send me a PM.
