Has anyone ever made or have a cedar over butternut short box

I'm thinking of doing a short box cedar over butternut and long box the same, but I don't know how the short box would be. I really like the long box so im thinking it would work ok. I'm going to run a matched set of these and run off on a tip board where I work.

Have done a bunch of long boxes but my attempts at a cedar butternut short box pretty much failed. Yelps seemed flat without that high to low rollover. Please don't let my failure stop you from giving it a try. Good luck!
