I went to see Scott today to check out some of his pot calls he has started making and I was very impressed with the sound of these calls. I got a canary wood slate/glass a Walnut slate/slate and a Walnut slate/poplar I think, correct me if I am wrong on the last one Scott. He had about 12 calls made up and all sounded as if he had been making them for awhile, they are all turkey killers and easy to play. He learned a lot from Lonnie Mabry and he has put the knowledge to work in these calls.
He is putting a really nice clear finish on them, one of the walnut ones I got is finished with tongue oil which gives it the lighter look. There is no doubt that I will hunt with these slates this coming spring and plan to call a few up with them. Good job Scott and I know there will be a few more coming home with me soon.
Thanks,
Yelper
