need help on burris fastfire

I picked up a fastfire 3 from the classifieds, I will be putting it on a Rem. 870 SM, it is already drilled and tapped. My question is, is what base/mount do I need? I am considering sumtoys mount. Also is all this something I can do myself or does a gunsmith need to do it?

Just mounted one of Sumtoy's mounts today. Cleanest mount there is.

What is that between the mount and site?

It's the little plate that comes with the FF2.

I'm debating the same thing...trying to pick between the sumtoy mount or the mesa tactical mount...also trying to decide if I want a protector or not, I would think it would help some but block some of your line of sight
