I hunted with it this year. I used a Mossberg Extended X-full choke I used to have in an old Mossberg 500, it patterned better that the factory choke and another aftermarket choke.
It patterns great with hevi 13 and tss.
3 issues I had with the gun:
1. The stock is small and I have a FFIII on top on a Picatinny rail. I had to build up the stock to comfortably rest my cheek on the stock to bring my eye easily in line and reduce recoil. Really worked great.
2. The bolt handle is too big, digs into the vest, and seems loose. I lost it twice after killing gobblers. The second time I didn't find it and had to improvise the rest of the year. They said they will send me one in June
.
3. At first I thought I liked the trigger pull, but found it was too heavy. I flinched on a number of birds, several times on some, but it never cost me a bird. I will have this looked at soon and corrected.
I love the pistol grip, way comfortable with carpal tunnel. I love the short barrel, doesn't hang uo on limbs when walking and is easy to sit to a tree and not have saplings etc. be in your way. Mine seems to shoot straight, which seems logical, but is not a given. Many guns shoot high, low, etc., right out of the box.
I've been hunting gobblers over 4 decades, this is my favorite gun for this purpose, even with the caveats mentioned as they are all "fixable".
Hope that helps...
