Do you know the difference between the blue demon and toxic orange calls? I've looked at both the descriptions, and they are both 2.5 reed ghost cut diaphragms and look like the same call to me. Thanks in advance. I've heard good things about both of them, and saw some blue demons 60% off the other day so picked up 2 of them.

Different colored latex means different thicknesses. Also two calls with the same exact cut can sound completely different due to different tensions on the reeds. I am betting you have a little bit of both going on between those calls. A diaghrams is a tricky call. The exact same call can sound entirely different when someone else is running it. You just have to experiment and find what sounds good to you. Always best to record yourself to actually hear how the call sounds at a distance.

If it does not say on the description of the call, the best way to find out would be to call or email Woodhaven and ask about the specific differences between these calls, and how these differences will translate to the sound of the calls respectively...

Currently, I would classify Woodhaven as a mainstream call, and out of mainstream (or manufactured) calls, I would put them on the top of the list for such calls, followed by Zink...  However, the cost of these calls is more than many custom calls, and considerably more than most manufactured calls.

As the priced continued to increase on Woodhaven, I decided to sample a couple custom call makers (Gooserbat and Hooks)...  I have been extremely happy with both of these call makers, and it is doubtful I would switch back.

When ordering just a couple calls, both of these guys spent considerable time discussing my calling style and preferences in a diaphragm call, and both gentlemen sent me calls I was very pleased with.  I believe that the time spent with me on the phone (for a respectively small order) saved me considerable time and money...  And, both men sell their calls for considerably less than Woodhaven or Zink....  Just food for thought.
Did I do that?
