Finished up a maple blackbird this morning.
Turned and sculpted to shape with my super secret sculpting tools (sandpaper)..out of all your turning tools, this is the most important imo. Good sandpaper is very over looked as a final shaping/turning tool (I use Klingspor brand sanding rolls):

Lanyard groove cut in..years ago I got a 3/16" square piece of high speed steel and ground it into a tiny scraper. It cuts my lanyard grooves in about 2 seconds flat:

Burn in a couple decorative rings:

And a bit more sanding, burn the exhaust end, some finishing and tuning...and its done:
