i just ordered a Browning Cynergy 26" O/U to make a turkey gun out of. I plan on shooting Hal's 3.5" load of 2.5oz of TSS 8's. I was thinking about something like a 670 or 680 should give me good patterns.
Anyone out there shooting this gun and load have any suggestions?

I think the .680 may work.   My invector plus barrels like between .685 and .696.  I shot Hal' 2.5 oz load of 8.5's with a Pure Gold .696 choke and got 313 in the 10" and 268 in the 20".  I will post a pic when I can get it to load.

I've got a buddy shooting an 8x9 duplex load through a 670 PG choke. he's getting pretty good numbers out of it. I'm thinking a 670 in one barrel and a 680 in the other should be about right.

In my BPS Invector Plus, I shoot an Indian Creek .675 w/ MagBlends and an IC .670 w/ Hevi-13 6's and 7's.  Patterning w/ 3 1/2" TSS loads, a more open .680-.690 choke produced the most dense even patterns.  I've found TSS in both 12 gauge 3 1/2" and 3" to be significant "overkill" at ethical ranges.

Here is pattern from .696.  Bowhunter if ya want one barrel for up close shots like less than 30 yards you could probably go to a mod choke with that load.
decoykrver, I am with you...the 1.625 oz load of 9's is more than plenty for me.

kwild835,
Damn, what a pattern.  Was that out of an 835 w/ a .696 and who made the choke tube?

kwild835

That was out of a Browning Gold 12 with .696 Pure Gold Buck shot choke.
