To everyone that gave advice about the bird I had that wouldn't come to the call thank you we crossed paths today. Watched him go into his strut zone around 6 across a field from me. Around 9:15 the 2 hens he had left him. A few soft calls he'd look my way an continue to gobble I went quiet for a hour an around a hour an 30 mins from my last call he came within 30 yards..... 10 1/4 inch beard , 1 & 7/16 spurs and 18 pounds thanks again for the help guys.

Sometimes it's patience that wins in the end, as you experienced. As long as he had hens, it's doubtful that he would have come in, as you found out earlier. Congratulations on taking the gobbler and another lesson learned in the vast arena of turkey hunting.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
