Well today ends my season here in Fl and a fine one it was. Funny thing is, other than the week I spent in TN, I only carried my shot gun one morning. I spent the whole season calling for my two girls. My 7 y/o got her first bird, a fine gobbler on a WMA youth hunt and the rest of my time was focused on my 10 y/o. We hunted the small pieces of private that I have and were able to go every weekend. Despite our shortcomings, I can honestly say that we worked birds every trip out and had them strutting and gobbling just out of her range at least once each weekend. She was really a trooper and hunted with me as hard as most grown men. It was a real pleasure to watch her handle the close calls as well as she did, and actually enjoy turkey hunting for its true value. I could killed several of the birds I called in had I had my gun but that's not what this season was about and I have no regrets. This morning I went and called for a friend on a farm he hunts, heard lots of gobbling and got one to come across a big foggy pasture then hung up at about 60 yards before loosing interest, but an absolute beautiful morning and end of season to say the least. I hope you all had or have as good of a season as God has blessed me with. Best of luck.
