I recently purchased a Vortex Venom red dot. However, my saddle mount on my 12 gauge 870 is weaver style and the Venom mounting plate is picatinny. Is there a more economical conversion plate or add-on I can get? I pretty much broke the bank with the sight itself but I can talk the boss out of a few more bucks if I have to. UTG makes a saddle mount that is reasonably priced ($23-$29 depending on where you look). The problem is it is advertised as picatinny/weaver. I do not want to purchase another weaver rail. I was not going to chance it and buy one only to find out It is what I already have. I know Vortex will trade me for a weaver plate but to be honest I would like both since I have an AR also.
