Well, finally fired up my little lathe yesterday to make a guy a few strikers. Wanted to share, I'm always open to opinions. Bit rusty, they took me too long but I made them 7 3/4 long. One is a black walnut, one is a butternut and the other is paduak. I have a few slate pieces somewhere, may try my hand at a pot call to give away.

I like mine a little thinner down near the bottom and just a very small flare tip. But those still look great. NICE JOB.
I don't have one in butternut that a neat looking striker. I do have a custom butternut box call and i really like it..

Thank you guys. Yes, I ruined several zebrawood sticks yesterday by trying to get them down below 1/4 inch, everyone one of them snapped in half, so I keep them between 1/4 and 3/8. Never worked with butternut, it cuts nice, some  of that stuff is like concrete, wenge for example, but the wenge is a beatigul dark wood.Im in the process now of making an ink pen out of wenge.(African wood).
