Randy, first thing, WELCOME to OG! Great Site and People here. I own an 835 and they are turkey killin machines. As stated, I wouldn't worry about the forcing cone. The 835 has an over bored barrel, actually 10 gauge, and patterns very well without any work. Deep cleaning and polishing the barrel will increase numbers at 40. You can do this yourself by following the posts provided on this site. Shortening the barrel would be at your discretion, with 24" being the length that shoots the best. The 20" barrel has been tempramental with patterns. I had my trigger worked on after I got my 835 because I hated the creep and heavy trigger pull. Got the trigger pull down to about 3 lbs and took out the creep. Good Luck and Welcome.
