John hit this one out of the park!
I have been talking with him through his process, listening to all the subtle changes. Then I get the text that says...."got it now!" And boy did he!
I was so excited, I jumped in the car and drove 3 hours to get mine!
Not a chance I was going to wait 2 days for mail....it is without a doubt, the best slate call I've heard....and I've heard and owned quite a few!
This is a brand new design of his, new dimensions inside and out.
Playing surface is a 3.5" slate, and the pot is tapered to 3.25" at the bottom.
It is amazingly easy to hold, and plays with ease.
The most incredible thing about it is the range and versatility....it can scream or whisper sweet nothings to those toms.
It has a clear two note yelp, nice and hollow sounding (like a real turkey)
And the THUMP on the back end of the yelp is really something special.
He has them in the classifides, and has several on hand now!
