Ported vs non-ported choke

I'm looking at buying a new choke for my new 870. What's the differences of ported vs non-ported chokes I have a kicks GT in my 12ga and I always shot lead shot but looking at some of the other shells such as fed hvy 7s etc. what do yall like best Thanks CJ

Get you a non-ported Trulock 565...it's a great all around choke...from shooting lead 5 copper plated to federal HW 6 or 7....with a non-ported you don't have worry about do I have the right choke....never cared for those little limbs and sticks trying to stick thru the holes of the ported...
