That's great...my daughter can't wait to go. She's 5 but I think I'm going to give it one more year. I've had her out in the woods exploring and she can never figure out why we don't see turkeys. I try to explain to her QUIT TALKING and maybe we'll see something!
My oldest is 5 and has been dove hunting with me since 2 and started duck hunting with me last season... She enjoys it, but secretly complains to the wife that the worst part is staying quiet when birds are working... To her credit, I have never had to tell her to be quiet while hunting...
This year will be our first year turkey hunting... She loves cameras, and I am going to set up a portable blind, and try to get some sort of video set-up that she can use to film the event... If you can make them active in the hunt, it is far more likely that they will enjoy it and want to go again. If a jake comes in, it will be the first in a long time that I kill, and I will do so without hesitation... Taking a kid hunting, means making it fun for them...
My youngest is 3, and I will wait till next season before attempting any hunting excursion with her. Totally different personality and much more of a handful... Her older sister will likely be a great help to me when I do take her out... Both enjoy fishing.
Bugman, that is a great picture... Pay for a good frame and put that one on the wall.
