Scope and Reticle opinions

I'm considering a scope for my shotgun for this Turkey Season. Looking threw all sorts of old threads, and I'm looking for some opinions on reticles, as well as scopes.

I have seen several threads saying good things about the Simmons 1.5-5x32 ProDiamond, I'm just not so sure about that reticle?

For a turkey gun, I would not vary from a 1X.  Both eyes open.  I use a red dot and have not researched recticles.  Parallex can be a problem with a scope requiring direct eye/recticle alignment, but should not be as big a problem as with a scope with magnification.

I have a Nikon Turkey Pro and absolutely love it..The thing I like about it is it has a range finding recticle....If the top of his head is at the top and his waddles is at the bottom...boom...It gives you some kind of a check in the heat of the moment....bad news is I dont think they make it anymore...I must have been the only one that liked it...

I did see where leupold is making one similar though...

I have two Bushnell Trophy turkey scopes with the Circle-X reticle. One's on my Beretta 12 ga. and the other is on my Beretta 20 ga. Both are 1 3/4 - 4 variables. Never had any problems in the 13 years I've had them.

I have a Leupold 1x4 shotgun scope mounted to my Win 1300. Love the extra heavy reticle with this scope, really shows up in the early light.
Also, I try to keep the scope set on 2.5 power, this prevents seeing the end of your barrel in the scope with it set on 1x power.

I have the Simmons Pro Diamond on my 11-87 and it has not failed me.  I was afraid it would not hold up but it has proven otherwise.

The pro-diamond is the best reticle on the market for turkeys

The pro-diamond is also a ranging reticle as well.

I have the NWTF Leupold but as noted, neither that or the Nikon Turkey Pro are being manufactured any more. Your current choices are going to be the Simmons or the Bushnell Trophy XLT.  As a general rule, any Diamond or Circle-Plex reticle designed for turkey hunting will give you a range estimate. If the gobblers head and neck (to where the feathers start) fill the diamond or circle the turkey is 40 yards or closer. I've attached the Leupold specs for reference-
