I know this has probably been asked before but couldn't find a definate answer.  Getting ready to pattern my SBE2 and wanted to make sure that it's safe to clean a crio barrel with a brass/bronze brush using the deep cleaning method.  Thanks in advance guys.

You will be fine, it won't hurt the chrome lining. Just follow the deep cleaning per the instructions. If you are that worried about it use nylon bore brushes.

Yes, it's perfectly safe. I "deep clean" all of my Benelli shotgun barrels and have for years. It simply removes the "gunk" that can be very hard to see in chrome-lined bores. The important thing is to use no abrasive materials in your bore. A bronze/brass brush is much softer than the chrome lining in your bore.

10 4 thanks.  Finally going to warm back up tomorrow so I'll give it a shot and try her out.

Dr Juice

I just deep cleaned my SX2 and will try her out on the range this weekend. I hope it was worth the bother. I will provide an after action report early next week.
