Made this Jordan style yelper with Ivory MP for a friend of mine from South Georgia, Chris Brown, out of an old hickory handle that belonged to his grandfather. Was surprised when I turned it to find it had some orange and red streaks with some spalting. Made him an Ipe striker and turkey tote out of the scraps and tried to keep some of the original handle look.

That is such a cool project! Awesome work!
A quality paddle caller will most run itself. It just needs someone to carry it around the woods.

Over time...they come to learn how little air a good yelper actually requires.

noisy box call that seems to sound like a flock of juvenile hens pecking their way through a wheat field

Thanks y'all!
I wasn't real sure how the hickory would sound. But it turned out to sound really good.
