I just could not bring myself to spend over $300 in a professional hydro dip or cerakote when the gun didn't even cost $300. The gun alone was $200, then the scope, rings, choke came out to a hair over $100 more. Just not worth it to me. Plus I think this came out fantastic.
Oh I wouldn't either. However, in a case like this, it's nice to have friends. Buddy of mine cerakote's stuff at the LGS. I take it to him when things are slow. $100 later, I walk out with a coated gun. He does a great job. Seem lots of his work and he's already done one for me in the past. When the time comes, that's where it'll go.
