Deer Hunters (how’s the rut)

I would proclaim myself as an avid deer hunter.  However my hours in the stand would not prove likewise this year.  Typically I will put 70ish hours a year in stand with my bow.  This year the month of October I have less that 3hrs in stand.  Work work and more work.  But that's about to change.  Everything on line says that the best hunting starts today oct 27 and goes until nov 10.  With no data, out I go tomorrow. 
1)   What are you seeing from your stand?  Chasing, tending, breeding, nothing, ect
2)   What state are you hunting?

Upstate SC. Bucks were cruising a bunch this past week and checking scrapes. Have only seen a couple bucks pushing (checking) does so far and no chasing. We are in prime time right now, usually October 21st through the first week of November is considered the "first rut" for our area.

Same in Illinois...cruising... The chase can't be far off.

In NY, I have found quite a few new rubs and a few scrapes, but I haven't seen any chasing or anything yet.  We don't have a lot of bucks around, so typically we don't see a whole lot of it anyway.  Hopefully the rut will bring in a few different bucks here soon though.

That's the same I have been seeing near Albany NY as well

That must be really fun or frustrating.  It changes quite a bit here year to year on the dates.

Here in SW MI the young bucks are out cruising during the daylight hours but not the older bucks. The nightime activity has definitely picked up as the scrapes are getting worked and trees rubbed are getting larger. Old stinky tail should be coming any day now!

LOL.  I did not get out today as planned.  The wind was 25-35mph all day.  I'm planning on hunting tomorrow am.  The winds are still rough as not as bad.

I hunted yesterday 3 hrs in stand in the am and 3hrs again in the pm.  About 70 miles between the spots I hunted.  I went out again this am.  All the bucks were small and checking doe's.  No chasing at all.  I think its still a little early here in south central Iowa.

What changes "quite a bit year to year"?  I think you'll find that most breeding (insemination) takes place within 5 calendar days every year.

Here in Iowa, buck activity has really kicked in. Definitely cruising now.  My buddy killed a nice one last night actually.

Also in IA, my buddy got a nice 10 pt with his muzzy a couple of weekends ago.  They seem to be running does already.  Had to hit the brakes on the way home from work tonight!
